DALLAS, Feb. 3 (AP) -- Josh Howard and Jason Terry both had 22 points and the Dallas Mavericks held on to win their 15th straight home game, 94-93 over the Minnesota Timberwolves and frustrated Kevin Garnett on Saturday night.

Garnett was in early foul trouble and didn't get his first rebound until midway through the third quarter. The former MVP went on to grab 12 rebounds to go with his 25 points - 10 in the fourth quarter. That still wasn't enough for Minnesota, which lost for the ninth time in 11 games.

Dirk Nowitzki made two free throws with 15 seconds left, after Garnett's only foul after halftime, to put the Mavs up 94-90. Nowitzki finished with 18 points.

The Timberwolves then missed a shot that Howard rebounded and threw to the other end of the court with less than 6 seconds left. Randy Foye ran it down and hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Terry scored many of his points when the Mavericks needed a spark.

After Mike James hit a 3-pointer to get Minnesota to 71-63 with 4 minutes left in the third, the Mavericks missed a shot and Garnett had two offensive rebounds in the same possession without a point. Terry then made two hit free throws and made a short floater.

Midway through the second quarter, Terry also had four straight points - two free throws before he penetrated for a short jump to put the Mavs ahead 40-39 with 5:37 left. They never trailed again.

That came just more than a minute after Garnett picked up his third foul and didn't play again until after halftime. Garnett had put Minnesota up 37-34 with a basket before this third foul. Erick Dampier hit two free throws to start a 22-10 run over the rest of the half.

Terry then got his free throws after being fouled by Craig Smith, who had just come in for Garnett.

Ricky Davis had 20 points and Mark Blount added 16 for the Timberwolves.

Howard made his first two shots in the opening minute after missing the last two games for the birth of his first child. He came in averaging 19.4 points and 7.2 rebounds a game, but was still left off the Western Conference All-Star team (Howard would later be added as an injury replacement).

Nowitzk 1000 i was named an All-Star reserve for the sixth time, the fourth straight year as the only player from Dallas, which has the NBA's best record at 39-9.

The Mavericks haven't lost at home since a 92-82 loss to Detroit on Dec. 7. They can tie the franchise record of 16 in a row they set last year when they play Wednesday night against Memphis, the same team they beat by a point in their previous game.

Right before his first rebound, Garnett had a free throw that started a 9-0 run. James' 3-pointer capped that spurt.

Davis had a pair of 3-pointers in a 12-0 run in the first quarter after the Mavericks had taken a quick 13-6 lead after Terry's basket and his assist to Devin Harris for a layup.
