The Dallas Mavericks evened out their two-game West Coast road trip defeating the Sacramento Kings 101-78. The 23-point win was their greatest margin of victory of the 2008-09 season.

Sixth Man of the Year candidate Jason Terry led the Mavericks off the bench for the second straight night with 24 points. In fact, the Mavs bench proved to be a huge asset again tonight scoring a total of 62 points. Devean George had a season-high 13 points, while Brandon Bass chipped in 10 both as reserves.

"Those (bench) guys are getting a feel of the rotation and what is expected of them," Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said. "If you look around the league the teams that are successful are those with benches that can give you 30 to 40 points a night."

Only leading by eight points at halftime, Dallas outscored Sacramento 30-19 in the third taking a 76-57 lead into the fourth. The Mavericks led by as many as 27 points in the game.

Dirk Nowitzki had 19 points and eight rebounds to help the Mavericks even their record at 8-8 with their sixth road win of the season. Beno Udrih had 13 points, nine assists and seven rebounds and John Salmons had 10 points for Sacramento.

The Kings played without scoring leader Kevin Martin. Martin has missed 12 straight games because of an ankle injury, while Dallas was without Josh Howard for the fifth straight game due to a sprained left ankle.
