The trade enabled us to get our guy and a to obtain an extra pick down the line. Beaubois has dynamic athleticism and an unbelievable wingspan. He's a 6'2 guy with a 6'10 wingspan. He was a double-digit scorer in the French League last year and brings a high energy level to the team which can really be beneficial to a team during a long season. He's a good long-range shooter and can also penetrate well. Some people may think we're going to stash him in France or something but we'll have him in the summer league, at training camp and we expect him to be with the team next season."
  • PRESIDENT OF BASKETBALL OPERATIONS DONNIE NELSON ON AHMAD NIVENS: "Ahmad is just a ferocious rebounder. He gives us some toughness and rebounding."

Jones was an All-Big East First Team selection and an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American his junior year.
  • Head Coach Rick Carlisle on Dominique Jones - "We're very pleased to get into the first round. Dominique Jones is a guy that we had rated as a top three 2-guard. We feel he's a guy that can help us out next year. We like his game. He is a very resourceful scorer and gets to the free throw line a lot. He has what we call a pro-ability to get his shot."
