  • Fox Sports Southwest will televise a documentary on Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki's rise from a lanky German teenage phenom to an NBA Superstar. The special entitled "Wurzburg To Worldwide; How Dirk became Dirk!" is a one-hour documentary shot in Europe during the Mavericks preseason trip to Berlin and Barcelona. Hosted by Dallas Mavericks announcer Mark Followill, it follows Nowitzki's NBA career from his rough rookie season in 1999-2000 to his greatest success leading the Mavericks to the 2011 NBA title and will air numerous times throughout December and January.
  • Re-live the entire 2011-2012 Dallas Mavericks season in the History section of MavsWiki. Season highlights as well as team and player notes are featured on the page.

This Day In Mavericks History

  • 2006 DeSagana Diop was fitted with a face mask to protect his broken nose and he was scheduled to wear it indefinitely. It lasted only a few minutes into game 1 (of the next series) vs Phoenix before he permanently discarded it.
  • 2011 The Mavericks complete an incredible 15-point comeback in the fourth quarter and defeat Oklahoma City 112-105 in overtime to take a 3-1 series lead in the NBA Western Conference Finals.
