This Day In Mavericks History

  • 1989 John Stockton (Uta) had 20 assists, the 5th time a Mavs opponent had 20+ assists.
  • 1991 Finished the 1990-91 season with a record of 28-54. It was the 1st of a string of 10 seasons with a losing record.
  • 1991 Derek Harper became the 1st player in NBA history to increase his scoring average in each of his first 8 seasons.
  • 1996 Jason Kidd had a triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 15 assists. It was the 17th time a Mavs player had a triple-double and the 13th of 14 times Kidd had a triple-double with Dallas. It was also the 29th time a Mavs player had 15+ assists and the 11th of 13 times Kidd had 15+ assists with Dallas.
  • 1996 Finished the 1995-96 season with a record of 26-56.
  • 1999 Bruno Sundov became the youngest Mavs to appear in a game at 19 years, 2 months, and 11 days old.
  • 2001 Played in their first playoff game after an 11 year drought.
  • 2005 The NBA named Avery Johnson as Western Coach of the Month for April. Dallas went 10-1 in April.
  • 2010 The Mavericks were defeated by San Antonio 102-88 in Game Two of the opening round of the NBA Playoffs. The loss tied the series at 1-1.
  • 2011 Dallas was defeated 97-92 by Portland in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Dallas still leads the series 2-1.
