This Day In Mavericks History

  • 1999 Steve Nash had the cast removed from his sprained right ankle and a walking boot was placed on the foot. He was out until 1/22/00 due to the injury.
  • 2000 Refs Joe Forte, Ron Olesiak, and Marc Davis whistled 12 combined technicals. Dallas: Howard Eisley(1), Michael Finley(1), Shawn Bradley(2), illegal defense(1). Portland: Rasheed Wallace(1), Mike Dunleavy(2), Dale Davis(2), Bonzi Wells(1), Stacey Augmon(1).
  • 2003 Elton Brand (LAC) had a 20-20 with 22 points and 20 rebounds. It was the 35th time a Mavs opponent had a 20-20. It was the 61st time a Mavs opponent had 20+ rebounds.
  • 2005 Activated Marquis Daniels and placed Rawle Marshall on IL. Daniels had missed 4 days (2 games) with a strained neck. Marshall was activated 2 days (1 game) later.
  • 2005 Kobe Bryant (LAL) had 62 points, the most points by a Mavs opponent ever, only time a Mav opponent had 60+ points, and the 3rd of 5 times Bryant had 40+ points against Dallas.
  • 2006 Activated Anthony Johnson and placed Jose Barea on IL. Johnson was on IL for 5 days (3 games) with a sprained right ankle. Barea was activated 2 days (1 game) later.
  • 2006 Dirk Nowitzki suffered a sprained left ankle late in the 1st quarter of the Seattle game and did not return. He did not miss any other games due to the injury.
  • 2009 Dirk Nowitzki missed the game against Cleveland due to a laceration of his right elbow.
  • 2010 With Dallas' 98-96 win over Miami, the Mavs became the first team since the Lakers (2009-2009) to end the 12-game winning streaks of two different teams.
