This Day In Mavericks History

  • 1986 The East defeated the West 139-132 at the All-Star Game, hosted by Dallas at Reunion Area. Rolando Blackman had 12 points and 8 assists in 22 minutes.
  • 2002 Steve Nash finished 3rd in the 3-point shooting contest. Nash advanced to the finals with the 3rd best score in the first round (15 points) and had 18 points in the finals. Finalists Predrag Stojakovic and Wesley Person tied with 19 points and Stojakovic had 9 points in the tie-breaker while Person had 5 points.
  • 2003 Steve Nash had 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 16 minutes and Dirk Nowitzki had 9 points in 16 minutes in the All-Star game as the West defeated the East 155-145 in double overtime.
  • 2006 Dirk Nowitzki was named as a reserve for the All-Star game. It was the 6th straight year that Nowitzki was named to the All-Star team.
  • 2007 The NBA named Josh Howard and Carmelo Anthony (Denver) as injury replacements for the All-Star game for Yao Ming (Houston) and Carlos Boozer (Utah).
  • 2007 Activated Erick Dampier and placed Pops Mensah-Bonsu on IL. Dampier was on IL for 2 days (1 game) with a sore right knee. Mensah-Bonsu was activated 17 days (6 games) later.
