Mavericks Announce 2016-2017 Season Schedule

DALLAS -- the Dallas mavericks announced their 2016-2017 schedule today, which will tip-off at Indiana on October 26 at 6:00 PM CT.

The 2016-2017 campaign will mark the Mavericks' 37th season and their 16th playing at the American Airlines Center. Dallas will play its home opener against division rival Houston on October 28 at 7:30PM CT.

The Mavericks' national TV schedule includes five games on ESPN, three on TNT and five on NBA TV.

All five of the Mavericks' ESPN games will come against Western Conference opponents with four of those coming on the road. The Mavericks' first ESPN telecast will come at Utah on December 16. The remaining four ESPN games are: at Portland (February 3), at Minnesota (February 24), vs. Oklahoma City (March 5) and at the Los Angeles Clippers (April 5).

TNT will carry three of Dallas' games this season, beginning with a matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers at the STAPLES Center on December 29. The other two Mavericks TNT games are: at Oklahoma City (January 26) and vs. Miami (February 27).

Dallas will also have five games televised on NBA-TV, with all five coming before Christmas. They are: vs. Milwaukee (November 6), at San Antonio (November 21), vs. Sacramento (December 18), at Portland (December 21) and at the Los Angeles Clippers (December 23).

The remaining portion of the Mavericks' local television schedule for games on Fox Sports Southwest will be released at a later date. All games can be heard on ESPN 103.3 FM and on KZMP 1540 AM ESPN Deportes.

After playing three games in October and 14 in November, Dallas will play a season-high 17 games during the month of December. Nine of those games will come on the road including matchups at Charlotte (December 1), Houston (December 10), Utah (December 16), Portland (December 21), the Los Angeles Clippers (December 23) and Golden State (December 30).

The Mavericks sill face the Phoenix Suns in Mexico City on January 12 at 9:00PM CT, marking the second time Dallas has played a regular season contest outside of the United States or Canada in franchise history. The Mavericks played the Houston Rockets in Mexico City on December 7, 1997, marking the first NBA game ever played in Latin America.

Dallas will play a sesaon-long six-game homestand from March 3 through March 11. The Mavericks also have a season-long six-game road trip toward the end of the year (March 29 through April 5). Seven of Dallas' final nine games will come on the road.

The Mavericks have 15 back-to-backs this season, 11 of which come prior to the All-Star break. In total, six back-to-backs begin at home and conclude on the road, five are road-to-home and three are on the road. Dallas will also play one home-and-home back-to-back this year against Brooklyn on March 10 and Phoenix on March 11. It will mark the first time the Mavericks will play both games of a back-to-back at home since January 13 and 14 of 2012 (January 13 vs. Milwaukee and January 14 vs. Sacramento).

The reigning world champion Cleveland Cavaliers will visit the American Airlines Center on January 30 at 7:30 PM CT. The Golden State Warriors, who won an NBA-record 73 regular season games last year, will make their only trip to Dallas on March 21.
