DALLAS - The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have traded the draft rights to guard Nick Calathes to Memphis in exchange for a 2016 second round draft pick.

Calathes (6'6, 194) was the 45th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft and was acquired fro the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for the future second round pick of the Portland Trailblazers that the Mavericks obtained in a trade on June 24, 2009.

The Winter Park, Florida, native was an early entry candidate into the 2009 Draft after completing his sophomore year at the University of Florida. In 2008-09, the U.S.-Greece dual citizen averaged 17.8 points and 6.4 assists per game as a Gator.
